Ag in the Classroom Event
I had the pleasure of documenting this year’s bookmark award winners for Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom. The Bookmark Program is a chance for the state to recognize some budding young artists who depicted agriculture in Wyoming on a bookmark. They had over 1400 entries this year, so it truly is a feat for those who win! The winners were invited to a reception where they received awards from Governor Matt Mead and First Lady Carol Mead, Secretary of State Ed Murray, and Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow. This year’s even was held at the Little America Hotel & Resort, where winners and their families were invited to create paintings before the lunch reception. I had a blast watching so many paint creations unfold and chatting with youth from around the state who traveled to Cheyenne that day.
A big thanks to Jessie Dafoe, Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom Director, for inviting me to document this special day.
