In-Home Maternity Photos | Cheyenne LGBTQIA+ Photographer
Standing in an open field in a flowy dress not your thing for maternity photos? An in-home maternity session might be a better option. In-home maternity photos are relaxed, personal, and unique to you. What space shows more about you than your own home? If your nursery is set up, it can also be a great way to showcase your baby’s first room.
I absolutely loved this in-home maternity session in Cheyenne last month. Nothing makes me happier than photographing people where they are most comfortable, and this cozy session with Taylar and Ciera was an absolute dream.
First of all, Taylar and Ciera have the most beautiful connection, and they made my job incredibly easy. I am also over the moon to have the opportunity to photograph families who are LGBTQIA+ here in Cheyenne. Capturing the love and joy within these families is an honor and privilege. As a photographer, it is important to me to create a safe and welcoming environment for all families, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Every family is unique and beautiful, and I am grateful to be able to help preserve memories for all kinds of families. Thank you, Ciera and Taylar, for giving me that opportunity!
If you’re thinking about an in-home session but worried about your house not being “photogenic,” I’m here to tell you that I can almost always make in-home photos work, especially for maternity photos. We really just need windows, a little space, and ideally, a room with neutral paint tones. I never, ever use overhead light for in-home family sessions, so look for rooms with windows and little pockets of light, like the one you’ll see here next to the plant in Ciera and Taylar’s kitchen.
Winter is a great time for in-home maternity photos in Cheyenne, so please reach out if you’re thinking about an in-home maternity or family session! Doing photos inside your home also helps us avoid that terrible Cheyenne winter weather. I am still, of course, scheduling all types of sessions for outdoor locations, but those won’t begin until spring-time. My new studio is also available as an indoor option for family or maternity photos. Stay warm out there!
