Estes Park Black Canyon Inn Wedding

Kelsey & Nate {Estes Park, Colorado Wedding} | Cheyenne, Wyoming Photographer

Kelsey and Nate were living in Laramie when they began planning a June wedding in Estes Park. The venue they chose was a familiar one for me, as I photographed a wedding there a couple years ago. The Black Canyon Inn and Twin Owls Steakhouse has amazing views from the ceremony site, and the light is always so beautiful. Cheyenne was having an all-out downpour this particular Saturday afternoon, but it was a gorgeous day for Kelsey and Nate in Estes Park. There was a little chill in the air, but the sun peaked out from behind the clouds just in time for the ceremony.

Kelsey planned so many exquisite details. Everything, from the burlap-clad tables to the flower bouquets arranged by the bridesmaids and bride, had an air of rustic elegance that complimented the wedding location perfectly. Kelsey made homemade cobbler for her guests to take home as favors, and she and Nate crafted a natural log cake stand.

And yet all those great details seemed to pale in comparison to the genuine connection this couple shared with each other and with the family and friends helping them celebrate. The word that kept coming to mind as I looked back through their images was ‘heartfelt.’ Kelsey and Nate put so much heart into every last detail, and there was a feeling of genuine joy about every part of the day. Every now and then, I spend the day crying right alongside the couple and guests, and this was definitely one of those days. Kelsey and Nate, thank you for allowing us to capture your beautiful day. It was truly an honor and a pleasure. Congratulations to you both!

Kelsey decided to do a quick ‘first look’ with her Dad…The couples’ grandmothers were their flower girls…
