Tara & Kris | Cheyenne, Wyoming Engagement and Wedding Photographer

Meet Kris and Tara. He first saw her running alongside the road in a neck brace. Yes, the girl who broke her neck in a car accident was taking the brace out for a jog. And if you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting Tara, this won’t come at all as a shock. This woman has more spunk and determination than anyone I know, a fact that I’m sure was apparent to Kris immediately. So what began as an interesting introduction — Kris driving alongside Tara, running down the road in a neck brace — turned into friendship and much more later on.

Tara and I only met a couple years ago at a photography conference, but she’s one of those people who feels like an old friend to me — someone I’ve known all my life. I think Tara makes a lot of people feel that way; she walks into a room knowing half of the people in it, and before the night is over, she is talking with the other half of the crowd like she’s known them for years. She has a knack for connecting with people, a skill that meshes perfectly with her amazing talent as a photographer. Check out her work here: https://www.facebook.com/BlushingCrowStudio?fref=ts. She is amazing!

I think every photographer who has been asked to cover another photographer’s wedding goes through this, but when Tara called and asked if I would photograph hers, I went through a range of emotions. First, I was totally perplexed that she would be asking me to do this (“Really?? Me?”). Then I went from absolutely honored to completely terrified. And I think I’m still dealing with a mix of all three of those currently.

Tara and Kris will be married in just a couple weeks. I only hope I can do justice to the amazing love they share. These two just seem to have a magic that is almost palpable. Tara and Kris, I feel so blessed to know you both and to be the one to help you capture this time. Thank you for giving me that honor. See you very soon!
