Kennedy | Rock Springs High School Class of 2016 | Cheyenne, Wyoming Senior Photographer

I love photographing seniors and I love being being around the Tetons, so this session was pretty fabulous for me. I also love libraries, so my heart was very happy. Kennedy is a bookworm, so she and her family met me in Jackson at the Teton County Library. If you haven’t had a chance to see Jackson’s library, take a gander at it the next time you’re in town. It is an amazing facility that incorporates nature into the architecture. From there, we went out to Jenny Lake and captured Kennedy in front of the Tetons as the sun went down. One thing I learned about photographing people around the Tetons is that the light seems to be on full blast until right as the sun hits the mountain. On a clear day in the park, golden hour doesn’t really exist. Light is harsh, harsh, harsh until that sun hits the peaks. Then, a photographer has about 3 minutes to capture what would feel/look like golden hour in other parts of the state. I’m wondering if it’s partly because the mountains are just so massive and high that, rather than filtering any light as the sun sets, they just fully block it.

At any rate, we had a beautiful day, and I had a blast with this senior. Kennedy is sweet, fun and all-around amazing. Thanks for choosing me for your senior photos, Kennedy, and congrats on your upcoming graduation! Best of luck next year and beyond!
