Cheyenne, Wyoming Senior Photographer | Morgan {Seniors} Downtown Cheyenne & Hereford Ranch
Sweet, bubbly, all around good kid. Morgan was such a joy to work with. From the second I met with her and her mom, I just fell in love with her positive attitude and sweet disposition. I hadn’t been in town for more than a week, and Morgan was the first Cheyenne client I met with. She and her mom went out of their way to make me feel welcome here and to offer little tidbits of information about Cheyenne, including some big pointers for surviving our first Cheyenne Frontier Days!
We also talked a lot about what Morgan was looking for in her senior photos. As we flipped through some of her past yearbooks, she tried to pinpoint why she was interested in me taking her senior photos. One comment she made really stuck with me. She said she was most interested in photos that were, “not so hard around the edges.” As her mom kind of looked at us both blankly, I got a big smile on my face. Not only was Morgan my first senior client in Cheyenne, but she just might be the first client to articulate my style to me. She ‘gets’ me. All right, so I’ll translate a bit….
Here’s how I perceive my style and approach to senior photography. I try to tailor my sessions to best showcase your personalities. Everything from locations to props to poses are aimed at highlighting you. I’m not a fan of awkward poses that look completely unnatural. I am a big fan of natural light. I only use flash if I absolutely have to…in my humble opinion, there’s a reason that term “flashy” has the meaning it does. I also really work hard to edit photos as subtly as possible. While I do edit out blemishes and anything “non-permanent,” I’m not interested in making skin look plastic or editing a photo to the point that it looks completely fake and overshadows my subject. I aim for a classic look that will stand the test of time, not something that will look dated and overdone in ten years. As far as locations go, the sky is the limit. I will say that I am a Wyoming girl at heart, and tall grasses, wide open spaces, and big beautiful skies are what make me tick. You’ll also probably notice that I love old rusty textures as backdrops for my photos.
Ok, enough about me. Can you believe how gorgeous this girl is?? And believe me when I say, she is just as beautiful inside as on the outside. Morgan, thanks for everything! I’m excited to see where life takes you next year. I’m certain there are some very, very big things in store for you.
