I’ve always loved this verse. It’s one that I used to say to myself over and over as a young adult and teen. Being a Christian teen in today’s society is not for the faint of heart. There are so many distractions and pressures to conform to the status quo.

It only seemed natural that we take some of Shelby’s senior photos inside the church, which has been a central part of her life. Her dad is a pastor at that church, and her family has been such an example of God’s love to its parishioners and the Rock Springs community. My family experienced Pastor Shield’s support and love firsthand after my dad passed away a few years ago, and I’m so thankful my brother and his family have him in their lives.

When I first met Shelby, it was very apparent that she had her mind on things above. She seems focused on so much more than the average teen. Humble, kind, and sweet, she seems to radiate a quiet peace. And I almost forgot to mention…she plays hockey. 🙂
