Cheyenne Engagement | Francie + Jared
Wyoming summers make being a Cheyenne photographer awesome. We have such beautiful scenery to work with, and I really believe our skies are second to none. Combine all of that with a couple who actually wants to take their engagement photos in the nice weather of summer, and I am an extremely happy girl. Not that winter engagement photos aren’t beautiful as well. But warmer temps and less wind give us a lot more flexibility. We can be outside longer, soaking up the sun, and your fingers and toes aren’t freezing while we shoot!
Engagement sessions have felt especially good since many of our weddings are slowly being postponed. I’ve missed documenting our couples and their interactions. I came home from Francie and Jared’s engagement shoot almost floating on air.
I always ask my couples about their stories during our sessions. Learning how they met and who they are as a couple helps me to photograph them more honestly. Francie and Jared are truly amazing. For a couple just out of college, they have the emotional maturity of a couple who has been together for decades. They’ve navigated ups and downs over the years by learning to communicate with each other. Their happiness together is palpable. They met in junior high and grew the sweetest friendship over long discussions about books. They started officially dating in high school, eventually broke up, and then got back together in college in a relationship that was much stronger than it had been before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Francie so happy.
While we were talking, she reminded me that I had actually met Jared when they were first dating. During her senior session, a very polite and sweet boy with curly hair tagged along for part of her session. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see that little throwback.
Congrats you two! I could not be more honored to photograph your sweet story, and I can’t wait for your big day next January at St. Mark’s Cathedral here in Cheyenne!
