Curtis & Nicole | Della Terra Mountain Chateau, Estes Park, Colorado | Cheyenne, Wyoming Wedding and Engagement Photographer

This wedding was such a dream. It was our last one of the season, and we truly could not have asked for a better couple to work with, not to mention a more amazing location. Nicole and Curtis were friends of a friend of mine, and I’ll be forever grateful to have been the one to document their beautiful day.

These two have the most amazing chemistry together. They are so obviously in love, and they are two of the most genuinely kind, awesome people I’ve met. They truly seem to have been made for each other.

It was pretty apparent that God wanted these two together, as evidenced by the perfect day they had for their wedding in Estes Park, Colorado at Della Terra Mountain Chateau. When I first heard that Nicole and Curtis were getting married the weekend before Thanksgiving, I thought to myself, “Well, this could either be a really beautiful sunny day, or we could have a ton of snow.” Either way, it would have been beautiful. But we had the most perfect crisp day in the mountains with a little bit of snow on the ground. It was fairly warm, especially for the end of November in the mountains. The light was perfect, and everything just seemed to fall in place even better than planned.

Della Terra Mountain Chateau is a perfect wedding venue. I’ve been at other dedicated wedding venues, and this one far outshines any of the others. The staff is amazing to work with, and they are extremely attentive to couples and their families. This is a venue that is yours for the weekend; not one that has been rented out to several couples for the same date. It’s really nice for your guests not to have to guess which ceremony site your wedding is taking place (yes, I’ve seen guests show up at the wrong ceremony). They have plenty of places for people to stay in the main lodge, and the rooms are beautiful. All in all, this is one venue I would whole-heartedly recommend without reservation.

You’ll find a couple really cool ideas for fall or winter outdoor weddings here…First, Nicole and Curtis thoughtfully planned for keeping their guests warm during the ceremony. They heated up rocks that were perfectly sized for holding in guests’ hands. Come ceremony time, they rolled these rocks out in big coolers and passed them out to keep hands toasty. They also had black stadium seats for their guests to use to sit on the rock amphitheater, which I’m thinking were courtesy of the venue. It was a nice gesture to keep buns warm and to protect guests from any moisture or dirt that collected on the seats. Lastly, they heated up large pots of warm water and coffee to help keep guests warm while they waited.

The details of Nicole and Curtis’ day were spectacular. Nicole’s dress was exquisite, and you just have to see the cake! I included a couple photos of the cake decorator putting the finishing touches on the cake on-site; it was a masterpiece!

Nicole and Curtis, thank you so much for making Liz and I a part of your gorgeous day, and for being so incredibly awesome. You really did make our year for us, and your big day will forever be a favorite of ours.

Hope everyone’s holidays were great. Thanks for stopping by!
