McKenzie & Kyle | Laramie Wedding Photographer

McKenzie and Kyle met on the UW track team, so I don’t think there was any question that they would have their wedding in Laramie. I met McKenzie and Kyle through their coach, Shaun, whose wedding I photographed a couple years ago, and I’m so honored that he suggested me to capture this amazing couple.

McKenzie and Kyle, along with their family and friends, were an absolute joy to work with. They held their ceremony at the Wyoming Territorial Prison, and the reception was at the Marian Rochelle Gateway Center. I love the wide open spaces and sky around the Territorial Park, and the set-up for the ceremony site is wonderful with the backdrop of tall pine trees. If you decide to have a ceremony there, be sure to bring lots of bug spray. This wedding was at the end of June, and the bugs were in full force. I really loved the mix of the outdoor, rustic feel of the Territorial Prison combined with the modern feel of the Marian Rochelle Gateway Center, where the reception was held.

McKenzie and Kyle were so gracious with their time, tolerating outdoor photos with the bugs at the park and then being totally up for anything, including staging a mini race at the track to capture them with their track team friends and still being up for a nighttime shot at the very end of the night, which ended up being one of my favorite images of the year.

Congrats, McKenzie and Kyle! Thanks for making us a part of your big day!
