Clothing for Teton Engagement Photos
Teton engagement photos are some of my favorite types of sessions. Choosing what to wear for an engagement session can be tricky, especially in the rugged terrain near Jackson Hole. Below you’ll see a gorgeous Teton engagement session, along with some tips for what to wear for Jackson Hole engagement pictures.
Lyndsey and Hunter are getting married at Moose Creek Ranch near Grand Teton National Park this summer. We are so honored to photograph their wedding. Lyndsey and Hunter are high school sweethearts, and they have the most adorable connection. They are both such kind people, and it was so fun hanging out with them for this session. They met me, along with Lyndsey’s parents, outside Jackson last summer for this engagement session. Most of these were taken in the Moran area. I loved how green everything was, and we had the most beautiful sunset that night.
I’ve known Lyndsey’s mom since before I can remember; she was good friends with my sister growing up in Green River. It seems like yesterday I was taking Lyndsey’s senior photos. We also had the pleasure of photographing Lyndsey’s sister’s wedding last year in Evanston at the Roundhouse, and I plan to blog that here very soon. We feel so lucky to document all of these big moments for this incredibly sweet family.
Congrats you two! I truly can’t wait for your big day this summer! Thanks to Shelly and Jeb for being our chauffeurs for this session!
Engagement Clothing Tips
Can we talk for a minute about the long dress you’re about to see? I really, really love long dresses for engagement sessions. If you’re looking for a touch of drama for engagement sessions, opt for a dress that falls to the floor. A couple suggestions on where to find these types of dresses….Lulus has tons of options for colors and styles, and might also be a good option for bridesmaid dresses later on. I like the long dresses that also have a slit in them (the slit doesn’t have to be one that is really high) or dresses that wrap and still allow your legs to move freely. The slit in the bottom or the wrap style allow for the dress to move a little in the wind. Joyfolie also has a few longer, more formal options. Joyfolie also carries some with long sleeves for fall or winter. You want a fabric that is dressy and flowy, like the dresses you’ll see on both of those sites.
Lyndsey also chose a great shorter dress for these photos. I really love the combo of a shorter dress with three quarter length or longer sleeves. It adds a bit of dimension to your photos over the standard sleeveless sundress or one with short sleeves.
